Ecotravelers Donates Heavy-Duty Trash Bins to Pamilacan Island
Pamilacan Island, Bohol November 25, 2023
In a continuing effort to support sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship, EcoTravelers Travel & Tours has donated heavy-duty garbage bins to the village of Pamilacan Island.
The donation, formally entrusted to the Pamilacan Island Local Guides Association (PILGA), aims to enhance waste management on the island and promote a cleaner, plastic-free environment. Known for its rich marine biodiversity and ecotourism appeal, Pamilacan Island has increasingly emphasized eco-friendly practices among locals and visitors alike.
The initiative was officially recognized and certified by the Municipal Government of Baclayon, Bohol, with the certificate signed by Mayor Atty. A. Alvin J. Uy, ECE, acknowledging EcoTravelers’ contribution to the community.
“We believe in responsible tourism that gives back to the communities we visit,” said a representative from EcoTravelers Travel & Tours. “Supporting Pamilacan’s sustainability goals is not just a commitment—it’s a shared responsibility.”
The trash bins are now stationed at key points around the island and are expected to assist local efforts to reduce plastic waste and maintain the island’s natural beauty for future generations.
