Dumaguete

Dumaguete, the capital, is a city in southeastern Negros island, Philippines. It is the second leading port in the central Visayas, serving both interisland and overseas vessels. The city is known as “The City of Gentle People” and is famous for its colorful Buglasan Festival, ancestral houses, coffee shops, and tasty silvanas. It is a major transport hub for reaching destinations anywhere on the large island of Negros, and often serves as an entry point for trips to the diving on Apo Island or dolphin chasing and whale watching near Bais.
